Welcome to Kentucky Bluegrass Boerboels - KYBOERBOELS - or as we affectionately call it
“The Boerboel Camp” or just
“The Camp” -
We are lovers of the Boerboel Breed.
We are so blessed that we get to live here on this magnificent farm in Kentucky and raise our dogs as part of our family. We even built them their very own Boerboel Fun Park on the property - why not right? I mean, the closest dog park seemed too far anyway, plus keeping our dogs (and others) safe is always our top concern.
Our dogs go with us almost everywhere we go. Truth be told, I sure do love to see the look on the faces of the drive thru workers when Big Bomani pops his head out to say "HEY!"
So, I had this idea.... what if my dogs had their very own dog park? They could play, we could teach them, we could teach the Boerboel Puppies different socialization skills AND above all - they would be safe.
Everyone has a role here, you will learn them all, and Big Bomani has appointed himself 'head of Security' of the park (of everything) - that works for just fine for us (but not for "Prince" Jabari - he still throws a bit of a tantrum when its time to stop playing and the parks closes for the night. That boy always makes us laugh.
~Things you do for other people (dogs) are usually among the best things you can do.~
Inside the Kentucky Bluegrass Boerboels Play Park, you often see a puppy trying to keep up with an older dog.
We expose our Boerboel Puppies to many sights, sounds and "big dog" things here at the park..... Do you know which dogs these are?
We don’t leave our dogs in a kennel all day / nite waiting to be fed or played with (NO!) and we certainly don't keep our puppies in a kennel either. Our dogs run and play and training begins early on all our puppies!! They think "fun" we know its socialization, manners and exposure. All so very important for somebody's future best friend.
~Everyday is filled with opportunities to change things for the better~
Bomani (affectionately called "BIG Bomani" makes it a point to check the perimeter of the property while he is "on duty" in the Play Park. He takes his "job" as Head of Security very seriously. Bomani is a no nonsense Boerboel. We can take him everywhere we go, and he will be a perfect gentlemen, unless there is a reason he should not be. These are Boerboels afterall, they are guardians - protectors. Never loose sight of this.
~Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weak is NOT what you are going to remember about me. - Al Capone ~
