HEALTH TESTING
We will not (and should not) speak to what other breeders do or do not do. We can only speak about what we do. What we STRONGLY believe - and we believe in testing.
LOTS of testing.
Testing for the love of the breed, Testing for the love of our dogs and puppies AND Testing for respect of our Customers.
Health testing is the most important part of our Breeding Program. We only allow healthy, compatible dogs to be bred. We will ONLY work with other breeders who put testing as high i of a priority into their program as we do ours.
We currently test for over 210 genetic health risks and approx. 35 physical tests. We test our breeding dogs to ensure that they are not only healthy, BUT we test to see which dogs are compatible as well (yes, we test for genetic compatibility as not all dogs should mate - even if they would make beautiful puppies….. they can also make very unhealthy puppies and we absolutely will not do that.
We take breeding seriously. It is our job to do all we can to preserve this amazing breed and do all we can so that healthy puppies are Born.
Its our job as breeders to TEST!
To ensure the breed continues to thrive.
To be transparent in our testing.
NO SHORTCUTS.
It is OUR job as breeders to do all we can to help this breed continue to thrive. To continue to educate ourselves and our customers.
WHAT WE DO...
Health Testing Data from both parents AND the puppy's health test / is shared with the new puppy’s owner as well as being mailed to the Veterinary Office that the puppy will be using. This way the Veterinary Office has all tests (results) from the pups parents AND the puppy available to them before they even meet the puppy!
-->We will be working on adding tests to the pages on our website in the future, until then, feel free to ask us questions - we are 100% transparent with our testing!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, ASK TO SEE THE TEST RESULTS FROM ANY BREEDER YOU ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING A PUPPY FROM! ANY PUPPY BREED! THIS IS SO IMPORTANT.
It's easy to say “yes, we test''. It's easy to say “we guarantee''. So it SHOULD be easy to produce the tests that are run. If there is the slightest hesitation or any excuse, there is a high possibility the tests you are asking about are NOT performed. Your new puppy & family is counting on YOU to make the right decision. Education is power. Some of the tests you should ask about - Cardiac Evaluation; Elbow Dysplasia; Eye Certification ; Hip Dysplasia Finals; Hyperuricosuria (HUU
